🧠 About the Project

This game was an indie game development project. The goal was to create a game with core mechanics inspired by Pac-Man — an arcade-style experience where you collect all items in each level — but with the dynamics and camera perspective of a small planet in space, adding additional mechanics and gameplay possibilities.

My role in the project was Lead Developer. This meant taking the level design, models, and animations created by my teammates and turning them into a playable game by programming the mechanics, AI, collisions, and overall gameplay.

In short, I was responsible for the entire Unity project, including all the code, scripting, and configuration to ensure optimal performance.

🚀 Challenges Faced

As a project, the goal is to create a market-ready game, meeting all the quality standards this entails, while also working within a professional development pipeline and coordinating effectively as a team.

From a technical standpoint, the camera work is a key element — ensuring that the camera transitions smoothly between planets and remains well-synchronized with the controls. It was also important to make the protagonist’s mechanics and actions feel natural and responsive. Another significant challenge was getting enemy AI and pathfinding to work properly on a spherical surface.

Additionally, I focused on optimizing the Unity project configuration and scene management to ensure solid performance across different devices, minimizing overhead and avoiding unnecessary computations.
